Souderton, PA – June 20, 2019 – Souderton Area High School student, Yasmin Khatri, is this year’s winner of the Moyer Indoor | Outdoor 5K T-shirt Design Contest. In addition to winning a $100 Visa gift card, her design will be printed on over 900 Moyer 5K T-shirts for July’s upcoming event. There were over 70 participants in this year’s contest, and while the winner received the big prize, all students who entered designs received a $5 Wawa gift card. Yasmin, a freshman in the Souderton Area High School, stated, “I am surprised and thrilled to have won the Moyer 5k T-shirt design contest.” Yasmin enjoys playing sports such as lacrosse and soccer. In her free time, she enjoys drawing and spending time with her three brothers and her friends. According to Bob Williamson, General Manager for Moyer Indoor | Outdoor and Founder of the Run. “This run is the largest event in the Indian Valley. In 2018 it was our best-attended event yet in its history, and this year, we expect over 1000 volunteers and runners to be participating.” “This is a particularly significant event in 2019, in that it is our company’s 150th Anniversary,” said David Moyer, President of the company formed in Souderton in 1869. “Since we began five generations ago, it has always been integral to our mission to be involved in and support the community in many ways. The run has been a part of that for 25 years, with proceeds benefiting the Moyer Indoor I Outdoor Cross Country Scholarship. The best thing about it is that it is a fun and much-loved activity for families. There's always great music and food, but this year we’re adding local craft beer from Blueprint Brewing Co., premium sliders from Jesse's Barbecue and a drawing for a Mountain Bike supplied by Scooter's Bike Shop in Souderton.” “The event begins at 6:00 PM,” says Mr. Williamson. “ You can register online at emoyer.com or sign up the day of the race. Each participant gets a designed t-shirt, and there is pizza, popsicles, and water as you cross the finish line!" “Our employees deserve a lot of credit for their participation in this and other activities we're involved with this year as we celebrate our 150th with 150 Acts of Kindness.” said John Moyer, Chairman of the Moyer organization, “Our team is raising the bar on altruism in 2019 by providing assistance to service and community organizations, volunteer agencies and individuals in need. We're not even halfway through the year and are close to our goal so we might reach 200 before the year ends.”
