24th Annual 5K Race/Walk Takes Place Wednesday, July 11, 2018 Souderton, PA – June 6, 2018 – Souderton Area High School student, Sophia Leone, is this year’s winner of the Moyer Indoor | Outdoor 5K T-shirt Design Contest. In addition to winning a $100 Visa gift card, her design will be printed on over 700 Moyer 5K T-shirts for July’s upcoming event. There were over 70 participants in this year’s contest, and while the winner received the big prize, all students who entered designs received a $5 Wawa gift card. Sophia, a sophomore in the Souderton Area High School, stated, “I am very excited and grateful to have won the Moyer 5k T-shirt design contest.” The youngest of four, all of her three brothers attended Souderton Area High School: Anthony, class of 2014; Gabe, class of 2016; and Matthias, class of 2018. Sophia has been involved in numerous sports both at Souderton Area High School and the community including soccer, lacrosse, swimming and water polo. She is currently a new member of Link Crew. In addition to sports, in her spare time, Sophia enjoys listening to and playing music, going to the gym and spending time with her friends and family. The Annual Moyer 5K Race, Kids’ Run & Fitness is the largest event in the Indian Valley. In 2017, there were over 500 runners and 300 volunteers and supporters. “We couldn’t be happier that our 5K has become such a fixture in the community,” said Bob Williamson, General Manager for Moyer Indoor | Outdoor and founder of the annual 5K event. “We are proud to sponsor this popular race for the twenty-fourth year,” Williamson added. Held at Souderton’s Community Park, the 24th Annual 5K Race will take place on Wednesday, July 11th. The race starts and ends at the Souderton Community Park on Wile Ave. Race festivities begin at 6:30 PM with the kids’ race and the 5K and walk begin at 7 PM.
