Bethlehem, PA — [August 23, 2025] — The Connell Family is proud to announce the succession partnership with Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory. This merger brings together two trusted, family-owned funeral home legacies; Connell Funeral Home, serving the greater Lehigh Valley since 1919, and Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, rooted in the greater Hellertown and Pennsburg communities since 1955. Two Legacies, One Commitment to Care The Connell family’s journey in funeral service began in 1919 with Francis J. Connell, Sr. on Bethlehem’s Southside. Over the last century, the Connell name has become synonymous with dignified, compassionate care, driven by a philosophy of true concern for every family served. Now in its fourth generation, led by Jamie, Matt, and John Connell, the Connell team continues to guide families through meaningful celebrations of life, always evolving with the needs of the community. Similarly, the Falk family's legacy began when Franklin and Betty Falk opened the Hellertown funeral home in 1955. Built by hand and heart, their home was transformed into a warm, comforting place for grieving families. The Pennsburg location joined the family in 1982, where Frank and Donna Falk led a major renovation that respected the architectural heritage while expanding comfort and capacity. Their most significant advancement came in 2003 with the addition of an on-site crematory, a service option deeply valued by today’s families. Together, these two family-led firms represent nearly 170 years of combined service to their communities. What Families Can Expect Going Forward The combined entity will operate under the Connell Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory banner, ensuring unified leadership, greater resources, and expanded services across all locations. However, the deep-rooted traditions that families know and trust will remain: Frank and Donna Falk will continue to serve in active roles, ensuring continuity and familiarity for families who have relied on them for decades. In Pennsburg, the funeral home will remain Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory to honor its unique history and long-standing connection to the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Frank Falk will remain the Supervisor ensuring a familiar face continues to lead in Upper Perkiomen Valley. Chadd A. Hamman, a lifelong Saucon Valley resident and longtime funeral director, will serve as the Supervisor of the Hellertown location, now the Connell Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory. Chadd also has deep roots in the Upper Perkiomen Valley. His parents, Catherine (Barndt) Moyzan and the late Clark Hamman are both graduates of Upper Perkiomen High School. His family lineage includes names such as Trumbore, McLean, Hillegass, Siesholtz, Hunsberger, and Schwenk. The Bethlehem location will continue to operate as Connell Funeral Home, honoring their 106-year legacy in the Lehigh Valley. Families in Bethlehem will continue to be served by the Connell family and staff. John Connell will remain as the Supervisor to ensure consistency, compassion, and their deep connection to the community. The Connell family also now owns and operates their own crematory, ensuring every step of care is handled by their trusted team. This means that from every one of the locations, your loved one never leaves their care. Families can take comfort in knowing that every aspect of the cremation process is handled with the highest level of dignity, privacy, and trust by the staff, under the Connell Falk roof. Elevating Funeral Service Through Partnership “We are honored to carry forward the legacy of Frank and Donna Falk,” said Jamie Connell. “This is more than a merger, it is a promise to uphold and strengthen the values of compassionate care, family service, and community support that both families have championed for decades.” Together, the Connell Falk team, is committed to enhancing the delivery of personalized services throughout the greater Lehigh Valley, Upper Perkiomen Valley, and Saucon Valley areas, offering families an even greater level of care and convenience. The partnership ensures compassion, dignity, and personal attention remain at the heart of all they do. What remains unchanged is the philosophy of service beyond expectation; a value established by both founding families and carried forward with renewed strength.
