Family Fun At The Heritage Center First Weekend Of Spring Free Barn Tours and Model Train Exhibit Part of Passport to History Weekend Pennsburg, PA—With the change in seasons, it’s time to visit the Heritage Center! The 1826 Seipt Family Barn reopens for tours beginning Friday, March 21. All tours are free but guided. You can arrange a tour time ahead by emailing info@schwenkfelder.org or calling 215-679-3103—or ask when you arrive. Also that weekend, take advantage of one of the last chances to view an exhibit of model trains, Next Stop Pennsburg! Come on Friday, the 21st, and Sunday, the 23rd when model train expert Mark Lehmann will be here to answer questions. There also will be kid-friendly scavenger hunts and art activities available for both barn and trains. Admission is free. These activities are part of the Lehigh Valley’s Passport to History Weekend. Four regional historic sites are open for free during the weekend. Besides the Heritage Center, you can visit Emmaus Historical Society and the Helfrich Springs Grist Mill on Saturday and Horner’s Cemetery on Sunday. The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center at 105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg, is the regional history museum for the Upper Perkiomen Valley.
